Addendum No 1

 

August 18, 2010

 

To: All Prospective Bidders

MERC has issued an addendum to the Request for Bids for the “Hall D F&B Tenant Improvement Project - General Contracting Services”

The purpose of this addendum is to address questions and supply clarification regarding several items as brought up at the 8/17/10 Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting & Site Walk.

 

  • Interior railing, exterior railing, bench and roll up door at entrance of space are all to be provided by GC.

 

  • Contractor is responsible for providing a set of as built plans.  These can be red-line or CAD drawings, which ever the contractor chooses. 

 

  • Sprinkler system must be modified to code by contractor.   New heads are required to be white.  Each head is anticipated to be moved based upon code requirements.  No sprinkler work is required in the concession cooking area.

 

  • All can light trims are to be white.  GC must replace existing trims on can lights to be reused.

 

  • The fire door currently installed on the west side of the space has incorrect handing, please replace this door with a like door to swing the opposite direction.  Door must be a commercial door with closer and be rated for use in this application.  Door must also be paintable.

 

  • All materials removed from the space during demolition is to be demoed in a manner such that it will be provided to owner for reuse if desired.  Contractor is responsible for recycling/disposal of unwanted materials

 

  • Contractor is responsible for all new ceiling work, both supply and install of drywall and slatted ceiling portions.  Wood Slat ceiling to be installed per manufacturers specifications, which are included as Attachment A to this Addendum.  Website for the product is http://www.9wood.com.

 

  • Closet door to be reused for access to the back hallway. 

 

  • This contract will be subject to liquidated damages of no less than $250 per day if project does not have substantial completion by December 30, 2010.  Punchlist items are not included in substantial completion.  GC will not be assessed liquidated damages due to product or owner delays.

MERC is soliciting sealed bids for General Contracting Services for the Hall D - F&B Tenant Improvement Project at the Metropolitan Exposition Center (EXPO) located at 2060 N. Marine Drive, Portland, Oregon.

Sealed Bids for the “Expo Hall D - F&B Tenant Improvement Project - General Contracting Services” must be delivered to MERC – Attn: Heather Peck, Metro Regional Center, 600 NE Grand Ave, Portland, OR 97232-2736, no later than 2:00 PM Pacific Time, August 25, 2010.  At that time, the bids will be opened and publicly read aloud at the Metro Regional Center.  Formal bids may not be submitted by facsimile (fax) transmittal.

Metro is soliciting bids for General Contracting Services for a tenant improvement at the Expo Center.  The Owner will be converting an empty space into a space suitable for a small café.  The workspace is located in the current room D103 located in south east side of exhibit hall D.  This project will include, but not be limited to: construction services/work from the following trades: electrical, plumbing, drywall, painting, demolition, carpentry, flooring, millwork, construction clean-up, etc.  Work will be in accordance with the construction documents and technical specifications contained in the RFB Documents

This is a Public Works project, requiring payment of prevailing wage rates and filing of a Public Works Bond as per ORS 279.350. 

All Bidders are required to attend a MANDATORY SITE WALK, to be held on Tuesday August 17, 2010, at 2:00 pm.  Contact Renee Pace at 503-731-7927 or reneepace@mercvenues.org for specific location and to RSVP.
